Chiode Minicucci Advogados | Littler Global (Brazil), founded in 2018, announces the arrival of a new partner: Portuguese lawyer David Carvalho Martins. He holds a master's degree from the University of Lisbon School of Law, is currently pursuing his doctorate at the University of Murcia (Spain), and is also a founding partner and director of DCM | Littler (Portugal).

"After developing several joint projects within Littler – the world's largest labor law firm – the time has come to deepen the connection between Portugal and Brazil, but also between Europe and Latin America, without forgetting the other Portuguese-speaking countries," explained David.

With the arrival of the new Brazilian partner, the firm consolidates and expands its expertise in Labor Law in the national and international markets. "With my integration as a partner at Chiode Minicucci Advogados (Brazil) and as managing partner at DCM | Littler (Portugal), we broaden our teams' horizons to work collaboratively for clients and on matters with needs and challenges in the aforementioned geographic areas, not to mention the opportunities this integration can create for clients and partners in the Littler Universe, present in at least 27 countries," he emphasized.

Currently, the firm advises clients from a wide range of economic sectors, such as: pharmaceuticals and chemicals, technology, aviation, insurance and health plans, infrastructure (light and heavy), automotive, fashion, retail, transportation and logistics, food, mining, commerce, construction and agribusiness.

"David brings together technical and academic skills that will allow for closer relations between the two continents and will certainly contribute to increasing the excellence of our client service. We have no doubt that he will add a great deal to our work," emphasized partner Daniel Domingues Chiode.

David also has extensive academic experience: he was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Lisbon Law School (Introduction to the Study of Law, General Theory of Civil Law, Contract Law, Real Estate Rights, Inheritance Law, Civil Procedural Law, Commercial Law, Economic Law, European Union Law, Private International Law, and Labor Law); and a visiting assistant professor at the Nova University of Lisbon Law School. He is currently a visiting professor at the European University (Lisbon).

He lectures on postgraduate courses, notably at the Catholic University of Porto, and on master's courses at Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique. He is a founding member and former president of the Association of Young Labor Lawyers (AJJ), a member and board member of the Portuguese Labor Law Association (APODIT), and a member of the Spanish Labor Law and Social Security Association (AEDTSS), the International Labor and Employment Relations Association (ILERA), the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA), and the CIELO Laboral network.
